Forgiveness

A good man was saying his prayers one evening when a thief sneaked into his house pointed a knife at him and declared : " your money or your life!" Without any fear, the good man replied. " the money is in the third drawer over there. Help Yourself."

The theft was surprised by this unexpected response. Anyway , he proceeded to take the money from the drawer, as this was what he had come for. While he was stuffing the money into his black pouch, the good man suddenly called out ;" Don't take all the money , leave some for me to pay the rent tomorrow." The thief obeyed.

As the thief was about to leave the house, the good man suddenly shouted at him, "you took my money and now you are leaving without a word of thanks. Now ,that very impolite of you."

The thief was completely amazed by this. Nevertheless, he quickly thanked the good man and ran away with the money.

A few days later, the thief was caught. He confessed his theft at the good man's house. The good man was called as a witness. When asked if the thief was guilty, the good man replied "No, this man did not steal any money from me. I gave him the money and he even thanked me for it. " the Thief was moved to tears and felt so ashamed of himself and he turned over a new leaf.

Sometimes , when a person has done wrong forgiveness maybe the key to helping him repent and become a good person.
